Chad was a police K-9 handler and has been woring canines for the past 10 years. His retired police canine, Rex, was a dual purpose dog trained in narcotics detection and criminal apprehension. Chad and Rex graduated Top Dogs Academy in 2007. They held their certifications through the United States Police Canine Association. For most of his life, he’s lived in Warrick County. Before he was in law enforcement, he was a member of the Indiana National Guard.
In 2003 he worked as a Jailer for the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office. Later that same year he worked for the Oakland City Police Department as a Patrolman and now part time for them. His training consists of being an ILEA (Indiana Law Enforcement Academy) graduate in 2004, a graduate of Police Motorcycle School in 2006, and a K-9 handler in 2007. He is also a primary instructor for the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, and teaches all of Newburgh’s officers physical tactics. He is also a certified breath test operator.
In June 2010, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
His love of dogs, K9 handling, and working to make the community in which we live a better place, all led him to start K-9 Detection Services, LLC.
